Plains Design Echuca

Chelsie Sharp - Saturday, August 07, 2010

Plains Design is a gorgeous homewares store located in High Street Echuca, amongst the historic Port buildings.  Owner Janet Burn is a respected interior designer who favours a sophisticated colour pallet and has a keen eye for detail.  It is hard to leave Plains Design empty handed due to the ever evolving range of beautiful reasonably priced Furniture, Homewares, Art Work, Handbags and Jewellery.  A favorite store for locals and tourists when a unique gift or statement piece for your home is required.

Plains Design was the first store to stock my art back in December 2009.  Artist Jullienne Beasley was working in the store when I approached her with The Collector Butterflies in Blushing Pinks and The Collector Dragonflies in Blushing Pinks.  They sold straight away and that is where it all started.....I often run new ideas by Janet, after selling a few of my Fat Cats Janet suggested trying some Dogs.  The Lone Dog and Dashing Dogs are now available online and at Plains Design.  Janet said, "Your either a cat person or a dog person, people LOVE dogs!! " You would be right in guessing that Janet is a dog person.

Sarah Stamm, another renowned interior designer from the gorgeous store Salisbury and Maude in Ford Street Beechworth who also stock my art, has suggested I cut some pears - "People LOVE pears!!"
Could be a pattern developing here.........  I would love to hear your suggestions too.

Sugar and Spice Market Wrap

Chelsie Sharp - Wednesday, June 23, 2010

The first  Sugar and Spice Markets was held in Woodend on Sunday and was a spectacular success for the organiser Ali Bant.  The hall was full of goodies from some very talented and creative stall holders and the crowd was entertained with live music, face painting for the kiddies and cupcakes.  Lets hope the market makes its way to many more regional towns as it grows, and Ali finds the time to do it all!!

The ballerinas, sea horses and fairies were popular again - and the new cats and personalised butterfly grids were a great success at only $90 each for a once off market special.
