Love Paper Scissors is delighted to be one of the very first clients of Echuca-Moama’s brand- spanking new media and communications boutique The Splendid Word.
Freelance writers Leonie Canham and Christy O’Brien have combined their media skill set and shared love of language to provide a high class communications service for clients across the Murray River region.
The Splendid Word is dedicated to creating genuine exposure opportunities for local businesses like mine - helping them raise their profile, perfect their image and promote their company’s unique message.
Christy is a born and bred Echuca lass, with 10 years media and marketing experience. She trained as a cadet journalist with the McPherson Media Group, working at the Riverine Herald in Echuca, Southern Riverina News in Finley and as editor at Rochester’s Campaspe Valley News in Rochester. She also worked for former Echuca-Moama public relations and event management company, The Engine Room. Most recently Christy has worked as a freelance writer for Homescape Magazine, covering stories across the Goulburn and Murray Valleys.
Leonie is a print and broadcast journalist with 12 years experience working in newspapers, radio and as a political media adviser. She has a degree in Journalism and Public Relations and has worked as a senior journalist, features writer, chief of staff and ABC reporter and news reader. For the past six years Leonie has worked as a media adviser to two State Members of Parliament where she has been responsible for all media, public relations, speech writing, marketing and advertising-related matters.
